Learner permit B: what time counts as night driving practice?

Decree 294/2025 defines night-time windows for the new non-special B course; the requirement takes effect with the platform implementation decree and applies to later learner permits.

The decree sets the definition

The decree of 17 November 2025 does not use “night” as a matter of personal impression. It defines the exercise conditions by reference to sunset and sunrise, including references to 8 p.m. and 6:45 a.m. A session at twilight does not automatically count as night practice: compare the actual time with the wording of the decree.

When the new regime is effective and applies to your permit, ask the school which time applies to the lesson's date and location and how it is recorded. Sunset and sunrise change through the year; darkness alone is not enough. As of 20 October 2026, the MIT legal-notice section consulted does not list the implementation decree required by Article 6, so check for updates before treating these windows as applicable.

Check the record before the practical test

Publication alone does not make the new regime effective. Article 6 delays its effect until the platform implementation decree enters into force and applies it to learner permits issued afterwards. As of 20 October 2026, that act is not listed in the MIT legal-notice section consulted; do not treat the new hours or recording as a current duty for everyone.

For example, a 7:30 p.m. winter lesson may be dark, but that alone does not show it falls within the decree's window; the new counting also depends on when the regime takes effect and your permit date.
